Our Journey
The story of Kite Fest Guajira began in 2016 with the first Encuentro Kite Addict Colombia, held in the legendary kitesurf destination of Cabo de la Vela.
What started as a small gathering of passionate riders quickly turned into a unique meeting point for the Colombian kitesurf community.
Kiters traveled from across the coast, as well as from cities like Cali and Bogotá, to share wind sessions, explore the desert coastline, and connect with the local culture.

From Community Gathering to Festival
Over the years, the event continued to grow, bringing together athletes, travelers, and the local community. What began as a grassroots meetup eventually evolved into Kite Fest Guajira, a festival that combines:

- Adventure and ocean culture

- Environmental awareness
A Festival Rooted in La Guajira
Today, Kite Fest Guajira takes place on the stunning beaches of Mayapo, helping position La Guajira as one of the most exciting destinations for wind sports in the Caribbean.
